You are free to set spacing in each zone, therefore the added elements will be moved away from the edges right away.
In order to change the spacing within a zone, enter its menu and choose “Spacing”:
After clicking the icon in the upper menu, you will see the existing spacing attributed to the zone and you will be able to choose between the new ones or enter a value:
